Belinda's Orchid

Yesterday I took a few pictures of my sisters Orchid plant. Oh how it made me wish for a macro lens. I couldn't get as close as I wanted but I still love how they turned out.

The first one was taken with the 24-70mm 2.8:

The second one was taken with the 70-200mm 2.8. The minimum focusing distance is greater on this lens so I couldn't get quite as close even at 70mm but I love the bokeh it produces:

Don't let the photos fool you, this was a tiny plant!! From top to bottom INCLUDING the planter, it was only 8-10 inches tall. The photos make it look so big but it was tiny! Really cute plant. I would get one... but I hear orchids are pretty sensitive and I don't exactly have the greenest thumb. ;-)

Welcome Baby "D"

On Saturday we went over to my mother in law's house to take pictures of my newest nephew, David. He is a super cute baby but he just wasn't having none of that "photo" business! He wasn't crying but he refused to sleep and he would even grunt at some of the posing!! I worked a few tricks to make it appear as if he were sleeping but he wasn't ;). After almost 5 hours we were ALL exhausted and he started crying the cutest little cry and we knew he was done. This boy has some resistance! Here are a few of the photos:

Newborn Girl

I took these a couple weekends ago and I just hadn't gotten around to posting them on my blog. She was a super sweet baby even when awake. I wish all newborns were as easy as her. As I carried her in between set-up changes (my sister was helping me with that) she would just calmly look up at me as if to wonder who I was. She was so precious that she almost gave me baby fever. Almost ;-)

Some of my favorites:
