Eye Macros

Today on SPN we were discussing extreme macro close-ups of the human eye. After some Googling (yes, that's a word now ;-) ) we figured out there were a few different ways to achieve the look. I don't own a macro lens so I used the 24-70mm f/2.8 with the 50mm f/1.8 held up backwards to it. I can't take credit for this trick because I read that people on several different websites and forums have done it this way before (that's where I got the idea). I'm pretty happy with the results. The first one is Carlos' eye, the second one is mine.

Exif data per Flickr:

Camera Nikon D700
Exposure 0.011 sec (1/90)
Aperture f/11.0
Focal Length 70 mm
ISO Speed 800
Exposure Bias +2/3 EV

This is what the sky has looked like on the way to work the last few days. Really, really beautiful. Well all except the picture in the top right corner, that one is actually on the way home from work but still SO beautiful!!

A New Layout

Finally! I was getting a little sick of the pink. *GASP* did I just say that? I love pink but I think it's better when used as an accent not as a main color. I'm much more happy with the layout now. Good, because it's super late and I should be asleep. I have to wake up in about 4 1/2 hours to go to work... ::sigh:: I really don't know why I do this to myself, I should go to sleep earlier.

I really wanted to work on some pictures I took yesterday and today (nothing special) but I think I should really go to sleep now. Hopefully I'll have some time tomorrow :-)

Hats, hats!!

I was looking through my flickr and I saw that I forgot to share these super cute hats my sister made! Aren't they so adorable?!

I love them all! I wish I was so talented!

Valentine's Day Collage

They are such good models... even if it does take a little bribing ;-) Now that I see all the pictures together I can see the inconsistent editing but that's okay, I still love every single one of these pictures! Maybe I'm just biased ;-).

The template is from Melissa Davis Photography Designs. Isn't it awesome? I love all her templates!

Weekend Fun at McDonald's

I'm a little behind, this is from last weekend. Mena has been sick and now I'm starting to feel under the weather myself. I wish I had more pictures to share but I'm just not feeling like editing the other few that I took. They had a lot of fun playing in the "monster tree house" like Litos called it. Ha ha!! He is too funny!
